Asians in Music (AIM) are looking for five new or emerging Pan-Asian-Kiwi artists to help take their complete song to the next level

Recording Preparation

Pair up with established P-A-K producer mentor who will help you prepare for recording your song at the studio

Mix Session

Have your song professionally mixed by a mix engineer, with opportunity for a pre-mix consultation and a feedback session

Mastering Session

An in-person mastering session with a mastering engineer to get your song release-ready

Studio Recording

A full-day studio session to record your song, accompanied by your producer mentor and a recording engineer

PR Mentoring

3 sessions with PR mentors who will provide quidance on releasing your song

A new or emerging Pan-Asian-Kiwi artist (over age 18), and
* Pan-Asian-Kiwi means that you are a New Zealand-based artist with whakapapa (a sense of belonging) to Asia
* New or emerging means that you will benefit from the learning journey of working with established music industry professionals, because you have limited experience of doing so.
Someone who has had some musical training OR practical experience in music, and
Anyone who has some musical ability (theory or performance or both), and has written their own music.
Have a finished original song
Has to be written by you (or your band if applying as a group), and one that you are planning to record at a studio and release by the end of the programme.
Able to commit time to participate in all components of the SANDPIT programme in Auckland
4th – 19th September 2023 (weekday working hours likely)
  • 1 x Recording preparation session (4 hrs)
20th – 24th September 2023
  • 1 x Studio recording session (8 hrs)
September – November 2023 (weekday working hours likely)
  • 1 x Pre-mix consultation (1 hr)
  • 1 x Mix feedback session (1-2 hrs)
  • 1 x Mastering session (1-2 hrs)
November – December 2023 (weekday working hours likely)
  • PR session 1 (2 hrs)
  • PR session 2 (2 hrs)
  • PR session 3 (2 hrs)
